Provided by YP.comI took in my husbands truck and thought it would be a real problem, I was greeted by Michelle and, was really relieved. Michelle assured me that they would check Bill's truck at no charge, they did. After about an hour the Manager came up and explained that the light was on because the gas cap was not installed properly but, it tested good. Mark also told me it was no charge and to return if I ever had any questions about my husband's truck or my car. I will be back and so will my friends.

Provided by YP.comwatch yourselves. it's great they do a free inspection but if they come up with additional problems with expensive repair costs, get a second opinion. that's what I did. it turned out that the ''problem'' didn't exist at all.

I really can't say enough good things about the people at Aamco in Tigard, OR. They went above and beyond my expectations at every opportunity. As a single woman, I was expecting the worst when I called about my car, but the Manager, Kurt, told me that he would have his guy's check it out for free. What really impressed me was that I didn't feel like I was talked down to. Everything was explained in a very friendly way and Kurt didn't try to tack on a whole bunch of stuff like the other shops I have been to. Thank you for that. They fixed my car while I waited and it runs great again. I will recommend them to people I know and will defiantly be making them my first choice when I need any future work on my car.

Provided by YP.comMy husband and I were reffered to Aamco in Tigard by good friends of ours after they had their transmission fixed. My check engine light came on and my car wasn't running very good at all. My husband is good at a lot of things, but fixing cars isn't his strong suit, so we needed some help. Our biggest worry was how much was it going to cost us.
Our friends really gave us a good feeling about taking my car to Aamco, so I called them. I spoke with the manager, Kurt, and he told us to come in right away and they would check it for free for us. Free is good!
After my car was checked out, Kurt called us and explained that the reason my check engine light was on was because of a sensor that was bad on my engine and it needed to be replaced for $148 and it would be ready to pick up that afternoon. We are so glad that we listened to our friends. We go to fast place for our oil changes, and they always want us to spend a whole bunch of money on all kinds of things, but Kurt didn't do that. He recommended that we do all of our car stuff there and he would make sure that the stuff that really needed to be done got done. So now we plan on just dropping our cars off every couple of months at Aamco in Tigard so that they can do whatever stuff is really needed.
This is a great place and they are the best place we have ever been with our cars. We highly recomend them.
P.S. - Thanks to Adam and Cate.

We went to the Dealership because our 2003 Ford Taurus wasn't shifting right, and after being charged over $150.00, they told us that our transmission needed to be replaced or rebuilt for about $3400.00, but they didn't really give a good explanation of the reason. Next we went to a smaller Tigard Transmission shop and they also said it needed to be rebuilt and quoted a much lower price than the dealer. I was told that they were "just as good as the high priced places, like Aamco", but cost less. This peaked my curiosity so I called Aamco in Tigard. The Manager, Kurt Enge, told me to come in for a FREE diagnosis, and I am very glad that I did. The technicians at Aamco found that a sensor for the transmission had somehow come unplugged and after they plugged it back in, it operated like new again. As Kurt explained how the transmission shifts are controlled by the electronic sensors and solenoids, I finally felt like I was talking to somebody that really knows about cars. I was also gla

Excellent customer service and repair knowledge! In these hard economic times it was so refreshing to find an automotive repair shop that could not only fix my truck/transmission issues but worked within my budget! Our family has been hit with unemployment issues (like plenty of others here in Portland) and being down a car made it impossible to even look for employment. During my original call to the owner of Aamco (Jeff) he offered to look over my truck to diagnose the issue (for free), had a driver pick up my vehicle (for free), and responded in a timely manner with the quote. After explaining my families financial situation Jeff did advise of a finance company I could try to use to get the repairs paid for....of course because of the kind of interest they would have charged this would not have been an option for me. As such, Jeff generously offered to allow me to make payments on my repair costs. Wow! What companies do THAT these days??? Not only did they fix my transmission issues
