Provided by YPmobileDo not get sucked into the wellness plan! Everytime I take my dog in I see a different vet who tells me something completely opposite of the vet before. My dog has skin issues and everytime I leave there I have all these expensive treatments and none work. You can't get in if you have a emergency we have been going there for 5 years now! I am not renewing my contract with them it's a waste!

Provided by YPmobileSAVED MY DOG & PUPPIES LIVES!
CHOOSE A VET, not a company!
Banfield in Edmond, OK has been great, but that is often due to individuals who have committed themselves to their profession & their love of animals. My regular vet was "unavailable" when my Scottish Terrier had 6 puppies in a snowstorm. I'd tried repeatedly to get help from said vet, but the techs kept putting me off. I finally went to Banfield desperate as I had been watching all pups & mom dying. They took care of me immediately, giving meds for free when I didn't have enough money to pay in full. They saved the lives of five pups & mom & today I have 3 beautiful girls.

Provided by YP.comspent thousands in surgery for my dog at this hospital. my dog is in pain and although their open on Sunday, they said sorry were all booked up.
They don't care about your animal or how much you have previously spent. The most uncaring vet I have ever experienced.

Provided by YP.comPlease do not take your pets to Benfield!!!! I took my 14 year old cat there to the one in Robinson Township, PA for a lump over his eye. The vet talked to me about a procedure that they could do to relieve the swelling, check for any other possible lumps in his head and chest in the event it was cancer. They also said they'd send a fluid sample out to somewhere still unknown to me to check for cancer. $500 plus medications later there is NO difference in my cats eye and "they do not know what is wrong with him" I was then told to take him elsewhere because they are not equipped to handle this. They advertise full service! Their "insurance" is also a joke. It covers nothing hardly at all! For the money I'm charged per month you'd think they'd cover their nail clipping when I bring the cats in for their shots. Also I do not feel comfortable when they take my cats to the back and bring them back to me all upset and shaking. The car ride is stressful enough getting them to the vet than to put them through being separated by their owner. I do not trust that they're even doing what they're supposed to! A couple times they were supposed to clip the cats nails and when I got them home their nails were not clipped. I was charged $11 per cat. They said they'd do it 'free' the next time I came in. It's not free when I paid for a service I did not receive. I do not believe they did anything good for my one 14 year old cat but remove a bad tooth.

Provided by YP.comPlease do not take your pets to Banfield!! My 3 lb Chihuahua had torn her dew claw. They would not let me stay with her and I could hear her screaming in the back!!! When they brought her back out to me, she was trembling and covered in sweat. They did not even give her anything for the pain! They just clipped it and wrapped it up. I swore I would never take another one of my babies there, no matter what!! They don't even deserve a single star.

Provided by YP.comWe really did want this to work. It sounded great, spreading our dogs veterinarian costs over a year. The trouble is, they call you to bring them in for a 'comprehensive' visit which includes way too many vaccinations and a lot of expensive things that are 'not covered' by your plan. If your poor pet gets ill, they really don't want to mess with you. You don't even get to go in while they examine your animal. They get dropped off and you pick them up and get a 'report' on what was done, and sometimes it takes hours. This is very stressful for a dog. And usually a balance is owed for the medicine, if needed, which is not cheap. You have to discuss whatever it is that was done in front of other customers, and there is really no organization involved. The vet may or may not make an appearance at all! When I take my dogs to the vet, I want to talk one on one about what's wrong, in a private exam room - not in the middle of PetSmart, with people everywhere around me. There's more to dog's health care than being stuck with a needle and giving a pill. I just don't believe this is good veterinary care. No matter how good the vets may be, this is not a professional, caring place to bring your animals. They are only interested in money and pleasing their business associates and affiliates, who in turn provide food and/or medicine through their prescription. It's a racket. Take your pets to a real vet, if you love them and want them to live long and happy lives. I've learned my lesson.

Provided by YPmobileI have a golden rotweiller mix and 3 cats. Whenever I have taken any of my animals to Banfield in Amherst NY, I have never been anything but pleased. The staff and vets treat my animals with respect and kindness. My dog is afraid of the vets and needs medication for her anxiety and the vets are very willing to work with me. I wouldn't go anywhere else!

Provided by YP.comThe Banfield in the Creekside Petsmart in New Braunfels, TX is amazing! I'm even on a first name basis with some of the staff and they are all so invested in the continued well being of my pets. Their insurance/pet plans have honestly saved me a lot of money as a college student and my Mother (who is INTENSE about her animals) knows that Dr. Williams is incredibly invested in his work. He will talk to her about her cat's health anytime she wants and they are all so nice. I'm truly over the moon about this place.

Provided by YPmobileWaited 20 minutes on the phone for an answer about whether or not they do flea baths. My reply... "I'm sorry sir but I'm not sure if we do or not. Please come in with the cat and we will see then if we can or not." Told them I was a woman... obvious woman voice. Response was "oh... well you sound like a man." VERY RUDE!!
So I brought my cat up and was told no we do not do flea baths. We also do not give flea medicine without first having to confirm that the animal has fleas. I held up my cat to show her the neck fur where the fleas were... she said im sorry but you have to make an appointment first... all they want is money. Wasted gas going up there for no help.
Ps. Got their medicine.. and my cat still has fleas.. never helped her once, just made her fur she'd faster than normal. And gave her a rash.
Terrible service. Would not recommend them. Try pro vet. Much better place. Or the siloam vet. Also a lot cheaper on their prices.

Provided by YP.comHORRIBLE! Went in for a semi-urgent issue with our 13 year old pug. He had a large growth that had appeared on his leg over night. We were told it would be a 15 minute wait. We waited. And waited. After 35 minutes (of no one keeping us informed) we were told we were next. We waited some more. And some more. After ANOTHER 40 minutes and not hearing a word from ANYONE that worked there, we walked out and went to another vet. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Provided by YP.comWe will no longer be going to Banfield when our current contract year runs out. We have been going there since the boys were 13 weeks old. They are almost 4 years old now. Since they lost a well qualified Vet and brought in 2 young (read inexperienced) vets instead, the quality of service has gone down. These 2 seem to be more intent on selling more services than actually taking care of your pet. One of my dogs has a cracked tooth that they would charge $700 to remove OR I could pay more on a monthly plan, $300 more per year, and pay only $200. Really? $500 to remove a tooth? Then, 1 of my dogs has extreme seasonal allergies. His throat gets infected and must be treated with steroids. This has been happening for a few years so we know exactly what it is. I took him in and asked for a prescription renewal that had worked the previous times and while I received the prescription I only received enough for half the length of time as before with the information that if it didn't work he would have to come back for Xrays that would cost $200. Needless to say, it didn't work. Almost cleared it but since the medication ran out so soon the infection came right back. I have already had his throat Xrayed at another Veterinary Clinic. Only cost $100. They will not accept my word that there is nothing there. So it has been over a month since his last round of Steroids that was insufficient and they agree with each other that they will not give the dog what he needs to make him well unless I agree to $200 for Xrays. His records are there. they just want to make more money and sent a sick dog home with no medication except take Benadryl for the allergies.....that won't help with the infection. I would not recommend this place. Both vets seem intent on selling products which make me think that maybe they are on commission?

Provided by YPmobileThe absolute worst in veterinary care, especially if you have a large breed dog. They are of no help of your dog has a serious problem. You will probably wait an hour in the waiting room (as I have on several occasions) only to be overcharged for no help. Save your time, money and dogs life and go to a real vet.

Provided by YP.comThe Banfield Pet Hospital inside the PetSmart location @ 2100 Mc Henry Av., Modesto, CA is great! The Vet there, Dr. Drew Waymire is excellent, very caring towards both the animals & their humans. Unless one has the Wellness Plan, which can save lots of money, the prices are a little expensive. We have the Wellness Plans for our 4 dogs & it's saves us tons of money already. 2 of our dogs needed dental work. Having the Wellness Plan, this saved us almost $900 (total for both of them). Another of our dogs had an illness. After everything was done, antibiotics prescribed, etc., we saved almost $400 on her due to having the Wellness Plan. Had we gone to another vet, we would have had to pay almost $1400-$1500 for the dental work on the 2 dogs that needed it & between $600 & $700 on the dog with the illness. It pays to invest on the Wellness Plan.

Provided by YP.comI would not suggest you bring your dog especially a large breed to the Lake Grove location. I brought my German Sheppard puppy there she was approximately 1 years old. She is very sweet and would not hurt a fly. The vet was afraid of her. Anyway she has two abnormal growths on her and the vet suggested we have a biopsy done. We agreed. The test was performed and we paid 200.00 dollars. When the vet notified us she stated she did not get any cell tissue and would give us a discount to retry-which was 50.00 dollars. Needless to say I did not return. very unprofessional of the vet. The support staff was nice, but I needed a well trained Veterinarian which I did not receive.. I give it no stars

Provided by YP.comHorrible, horrible, horrible. These people HATE animals. The front desk staff have been trained to be as rude and stupid and unfriendly as possible. If they're not trained to be rude...then it must be an employment requirement. The vet didn't even TOUCH my dog to utter a "diagnosis" (which if I had agreed to would have cost hundreds $). An emergency appointment to euthanize a cancer-ridden cat was 7 days (because they believe cats don't suffer?). No customer service, no conflict resolution. If corporate does deem to contact you - don't get happy! It's just another step in the Shuck and Jive game. DO NOT TAKE ANY LIVING CREATURE HERE. Please find a real vet to help your animals.

Provided by YPmobileI find it interesting that you were unsatisfied with services when the date you supplied hasn't occurred. I can assure you that the team is awesome and cares about pets. They try to accommodate walk ins, always. Of course, they can't give away free services. Otherwise, they would go out of business, as an hospital would.

Provided by YP.comThis place did nothing to help my pet. They took tests and charged a lot of money . My cat had an abscess that she wouldn't stop licking. It got infected. I was using a paper plate so she couldn't lick it raw. When I asked about an e-collar (plastic cone that goes around their neck) they said to just keep using a plate cause they didn't carry them. They charged me 300 bucks for some tests and meds that she didn't even need. I went to Oasis and they kept her for the entire day, gave her an e-collar and completely removed the abscess and the infection for less than this placed charged me. Not to mention I spent hours waiting and I was the only person there at the time.

Provided by YPmobileI don't understand how this place can still survive and do business. They will try as hard as they can to rip you off. They may look clean and good for your pet. But they may cost you nearly 1000 dollars for nothing as well. All the staffs are untrained and unprofessional. Please get a grip and find some other place for your pet.

Provided by YP.comfrom experience and from people I know personally, I am of the opinion that the (great) posts on here are from employees trying to make it look good

Provided by YPmobilePushy about spending extra for everything. Will rob you blind, insists on tests not needed and misdiagnose. Assistants are inexperienced and do much if the work the vet should be doing. All about money. Never again.
