The good news is that you don't have to deal with Cline at all. Here are a few other places in the Portland area I came up with:

For a selection as large is Cline's, with courteous, helpful employees, and at slightly lower prices, try Bullseye Glass, 3722 SE 21st, Portland, 503 277 2797

For a more limited selection at prices about 25% of Cline's, try La Sorella. This is a commercial studio in NE Portland that will sell you large pieces of glass left over from other projects. Call Joe at 503 285 1197 to let him know you are coming.

You can buy online from Delphi Glass for about 40% of what Cline charges. They have a huge selection of beautifully photographed pieces of glass to let you know exactly what you are buying. www.delphiglass.com

If you come up with other places, post them here as a favor to people who have dealt with Cline once too often.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. They do not stand behind what they sell. When an expensive grinder utterly failed on the third day of use, the manager . . . or owner or whomever it is they keep in the backroom . . . was rude to the point of seeming like a psychopath. Not only did he refuse point-blank to deal with me, he became emotional, started yelling and, when that didn't drive me from the store, began making fun of me. Thete 's no WAY people like this should be doing business ib our beautiful city.

Notably good service experience

They are able to answer any questions you have on projects or possible projects. They also offer classes. I love this store!!

God awful attitudes

They are some of the rudest people I have ever encountered. They act like they're doing you a favor when you're trying to purchase supplies. My last two visits were no less than $300.00 and I will not be back and unless they're under new management I will encourage other artists to buy elsewhere. The suppliers can't even stand them.
