In July 1990, Columbia Distributing (formally known as Mt. Hood Beverage) was formed by Dick Lytle and Dan Agnew as the result of an acquisition and consolidation of two existing malt beverage wholesalers - Coast Distributors, which had a series of branch operations in western Oregon, and United Beverage, which had a large branch operation in Portland. More than a decade later, Mt. Hood Beverage continues to grow as an aggressive and dynamic industry leader. A 200,000-square-foot facility in Portland, Ore., and six other facilities in Oregon and southeast Washington are home to more than 600 dedicated sales and service professionals, who market and distribute more than 275 different brands of beer, wine and natural beverages. With annual sales of approximately $200 Million, Columbia Distributing is ranked as one of Oregon's largest private businesses.
