Located in Portland, Ore., Franklin High School is a secondary school that provides education to students in grades nine through twelve. The school has an enrollment of more than 1,300 students and offers courses in various subjects, such as art, carpentry, algebra, physics, chemistry, and law and public service, business technology, automotive-technician training, and food and child development. It additionally provides honors and advanced placement courses in English, mathematics, science and social studies and career preparatory programs in various areas, such as human resources, arts and communications, business management, health services, and industrial and engineering systems. It also provides courses in other subjects, such as business technology, ceramics, choral and instrumental music. The school offers opportunities to participate in various extracurricular activities, athletics, clubs and student government. Its foreign language courses include Chinese and Spanish. The school also offers special education programs for students with disabilities.
