Dr. Goldstein and his staff were very friendly & helpful to me. I have had lots of foot pain for years. My visit with Dr. Goldstein really helped a lot of my pain and I have been walking & excercising more than I have ever been able to in my life. Thank you Dr. Goldstein!

My son had an ingrown toenail and little did we know it was infected. His staff welcomed us and he was very good at explaining to my son the details about the procedure and the cause. He took his time even when we were not scheduled for a procedure. He stayed late just to make sure my son was comfortable and had a thorough exam. My friend told me about him and I am here to spread the word as well. He literally has took care of my whole family! If your feet hurt, HE IS THE MAN TO SEE! :-)

I was visiting Portland, planning to run the Portland Marathon that Sunday, and injured myself while I was running at one of your tracks. I was told by a runner that I should see Dr Goldstein. I immediately called his office and was told that since it was an emergency, come right over. The office was great, got to see the Dr who spent much time explaining every question I had and was put at ease immediately. I would highly recommend Dr Goldstein to anyone that was looking for a kind and caring person. He gets 5 stars from me. Thanks Dr.

I WANTED TO WRITE A REVIEW TODAY BECAUSE OF THE WONDERFUL STAFF AND COMPASSIONATE DR I HAD THE EXPERIENCE IN SEEING. MY DAD IS A DIABETIC AND IS QUITE SLOW AND HAS MANY PROBLEMS, MAINLY ULCERS ON HIS FEET. DR GOLDSTEIN ALWAYS TAKES HIS TIME WITH HIM, NEVER RUSHED AND THE STAFF IS VERY KIND AND NEVER RUSH HIM BECAUSE HE IS VERY SLOW. I KNOW THE STAFF THERE IS QUITE BUSY, BUT YOU WOULD NEVER KNOW IT HOW THEY TREAT MY DAD. WHENEVER I CALL ON THE PHONE THEY ARE ALWAYS CARING AND ASK ABOUT MY DAD. THERE ARE VERY FEW PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY DOCTORS LIKE DR. GOLDSTEIN.

Dr. Goldstein & his staff are excellent. They take good care of me. When I first went to him, I couldn't walk 20 feet. I can walk for MILES now!! He's my foot doctor for several years and I'm lucky to have found him. :-)

I was touring the city of Portland on vacation and injured my foot in a way that was painful and scary. My foot swole up and I couldn't put any weight on it. I did an internet search of podiatrists and the best reviews were for Dr. Goldstein. His staff snuck me in at the end of their day. I expected to be rushed around so they could go home, and just the opposite was true. Dr. G took x-rays and talked me through my anxiety. Before I knew it I felt like I'd known them as caregivers for a long time. I'm home again now, and Dr. G said to call for follow up next week, over the phone. Smart and caring doctor. Thank you :)

Dr. Jay is the best Podiatric Surgeon in the Northwest! A genuinely caring individual, with a great staff.

I was seen by Dr. Goldstein with a problem I lived with for seven years and thought would never resolve. I was impressed by his thorough exam and knew after my first visit that his approach considered my needs and circumstance. His treatment guidelines seemed reasonable and superceded logic. The fact is that his expertise developed a regimen that worked. After establishing a relationship with Dr. Goldstein, an injury prompted a return. Seamlessly, the office offered a welcome and scheduled my appointment. Each member of the office had the resources to know what the new appointment would require. The office did x-rays on site and the doctor viewed them during my examination. Subsequent appointments produced positive results and information provided the tools necessary to maintain my foot health. Coincinding with his plan, my positive result requires conscious adherence to guidelines that I cannot ignore. Remember, the feet are our connection to the world. Literally.

A miracle worker! My friend told me about this doctor.see him. I trusted my friends judgment so I proceeded with this appointment. This doctor was amazing. He spent so much time asking questions about things that other doctors had overlooked. He really did care about things other doctors would have just rushed through. His staff was just as friendly. I really respect this doctor and anyone with a foot problem should see him. His sense of humor was even pleasant and still he remained professional. Portland disregard those other reviews because there is nothing this doctor cant handle. From my friends and family we all agree, he is the best! Alona. S

I was so happy that I do not have pain in my feet anymore that I wanted to write a review. I am happy at all the positive reviews the Dr has. He deserves it. i also see 1-2 not so positive, but as you know you cannot please everyone.I stand on my feet all day and I am also a runner. Great to feel like 20 again. Larry M

I was having heel pain for a number of months. I went to a few physicians and was told many different things. All tried to help me, but I still had the discomfort.I decided to go on the internet myself and see what I could find. I read many reviews good and bad on all doctors. As we know we cannot please everyone, I decided to make an appointment with Dr Goldstein. He did a "picture" of my heel, which was not done before. I cannot remember what it was called, anyways-- Guess what, I must have stepped on something awhile ago and it was still in there. Well, he spent his lunch time taking it out. I want to thank him and his staff for helping me.

Dr. Goldstein is the best kind of physician. I went to him with severe foot issues and he would not quit until I could tell him all the pain was gone. Every time I see him, it is the same question, are you pain free? I am six years into using the custom orthotics, and able to be every active again, without hurting. His office staff is friendly and the billing seems fair and equitable. Highly recommend his services.

I have been a patient for a few years now and was astounded by the accusations from the 8-24-10 review I just read on Dr. Goldstein. I have been treated with SUPERB respect and have always been informed every step of the way for the treatments I have and will receive. I am on my feet 8hrs a day and had much pain until Dr.Goldstein recommended that I purchase orthotics. With his diligent and thorough instructions I am now completely pain free. You can not please everyone, but I know Dr.Goldstein very well and after reading that comment about him I had to make sure other viewers are aware about what is real and what is not. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM and I will continue to do so!!!!!

I am Dr. Jay C. Goldstein, and I am responding to Erin (8/24/10), who is doing her best to impugn my reputation, for reasons I wish I could mention. Doctors are in a difficult position when responding to such allegations because of HIPAA regulations, whereas Erin is not required to document the truth. If Erin will give me permission, I am willing to POST SPECIFIC DOCUMENTATION demonstrating that her statements are at best inaccurate, and in most cases not related to the truth. Erin was informed of the cost of the orthotics during the first visit (she signed the policy listing the cost in large letters). She was informed that her shoes were too tight, antithetical to trying to delay progression of her bunions. If one is exposed to chemical burns, it is obvious within 24 hours; it does not take three weeks. I checked Erin at 48 hours, and she was fine, so fine that she canceled her next appointment, stating that she was fine, so that there was no reason to come in. If Erin will rel

Where to even begin. I'm a nurse and I moved to Oregon from the East Coast and read the reviews of Dr. Goldstein online and thought he was a good doctor. He told me that I needed orthodics for my bunions. If I would have known that they would cost 498.00 I would have gave it a second thought. He made no mention on the price. So I said fine I'll take them. I told him I was a size 10 shoe. He told me that I would need a size 11 1/2 for him to finish make them. He totally had me held hostage. I decided that I would never wear a shoe 3x the normal size for me. Then I had ingrown toenail surgery. Everything was going fine until 3 weeks later I was not getting any better. An urgent care visit and finding another podiatrist later I was told I had very bad chemical burns on my toes and that if I didn't change my treatment they would never heal. The new podiatrist also said that I don't even need the 498.00 orthodics and that they would do nothing to slow the progression of bunions. Save your m

I was at 2 other podiatrist within the last two years. I am a runner and love to do marathons. After my injury I could not do any running. The first podiatrist made me orthotics, which I could not wear, the second one put me in a walker, with physical therapy for 8 weeks, no results. My boyfriend has surgery and was very happy with the results. I decided to make an appointment. He told me I needed better support in my orthotics. He knew it would cost me $$$$ since he said he would try to work with the orthotics that I had. Well, I do not know what he did to them, but I am now running and planning to do the Portland Marathon in October. After looking at Dr's profile I finally figured out how he modified my orthotics, he has a degree in Biomedical engineering, thats a mouthful. HE IS A VERY meticulous Dr and some people might think this is being rude or short, as one reviewer wrote, but HE IS MY GUARDIAN ANGEL

After going to 4 doctors within a year and not being able to help me or to tell me what is wrong with my foot and to treat it I finally went to Dr Goldstein. My fellow worker told me he is a caring doctor and will give you the facts and not rush you along. Well, after one visit he diagnosed my problem as a neuroma. I am now painfree and back to my daily walks and racketball.I highly recommend him to anyone with any foot problems.

I came to Dr Goldstein after being told that I would need surgery on my foot which I did not want. The other two Doctors told me no other treatment would work. Dr Goldstein explained to me other treatments and told me the positive and negative of each. He never seemed rushed and answered all my questions. I choose orthotics which he made and have been very happy with the outcome. When I decide to have the surgery I will go to Dr. Goldstein since I know he will take the time to explain the procedure and answer all my questions. Another thing which I like is when I call the office to ask a question I get an answer that day. I never have to call again to remind them I have not received a call back. I highly recommend him to anyone who needs treatment.

I am a diabetic and have had other Dr's in Portland and Vancouver, Washington try to treat my many ulcers on my feet without any success. My son kept telling me to go to Dr Goldstein. He went to him for a nail infection and also his children for a foot deformity. I finally did. He has healed my ulcer wounds after two doctors wanted to amputate my toes. I am so grateful to him. I do not think I can ever repay him back. I now can walk and he has also provided me with my diabetic shoes, which my insurance company has paid.I have told all my friends how I feel about his service. He gets 10 stars in service, and caring.

Being a runner for the last 5 years and developing a problem and going to a well known orthopedist who specializes in runners for a year I was not getting anywhere. A friend who recently had surgery told me to go to him. He is fantastic. I am now running and planning to run the Portland Marathon this year. YEA YEA YEA I cannot thank him enough. I have recommended him to all my friends and they are as happy as I am.
