Provided by YP.comI arrived at 6:30 am on the 4th floor as my fiance(K) had been scheduled for surgery at 7:00am. When I talked to K she related that a nurse had been in the process of helping her use a bedpan when she abruptly stopped and told her to just go in your diaper. K had no choice as with her spinal problems she was unable to do anything else. K had now been in soiled undies for over two hours. I immediately went to the nurses station and let a nurse know that she needed help changing. There were 5-7 hospital workers at the nurses station, and one looked at me and almost begrudgingly said she would be in to take care of it. An hour later no one had come in, so I found rubber gloves, wipes, and a fresh adult diaper. I removed the soiled diaper, cleaned her up with the wipes, and put the fresh one on her. The bedding was soiled but not soaked like the diaper. Nothing was done about the bedding while I was there. This is a 60yr old woman that is experiencing severe pain and is unable to move her lower extremities. If I could have given a minus score I would have as this is elderly abuse in my opinion.
