We rely on a wood-burning furnace to heat our old farmhouse, and therefore take the safety and maintenance of our heating system seriously. Every year, it seemed like a big chore to try and get a chimney sweep to come out for a service call. They really seemed to come and go, some more honest than others, and since moving here in the late 1980s, we used numerous companies. Once we found Jason (Master Sweep), we know who to call when it is that time of year! Jason has been our preferred service provider for everything to do with wood heating since 2007. For 13 years he has done everything for us from replacing worn out flue pipes, to repairing the old masonry chimney, to the installation of a stainless steel lining system, as well as making the trip out to the farm to perform the least glamorous chimney related task, routine cleanings. He has proven to be trustworthy, reasonably priced, professional, and has decades of experience. We recommend him to family and friends, but always suggest calling in early summer, as he gets SUPER busy with cleaning calls in the fall when people are reminded by the sudden snap of the first cold weather.

Jason is a crook. watch yourselves. he will lie to upsell to you on chimney caps. or extra work. for the past 12 years he has been cheating the irs out of taxes and is worried about them finding out. none of his employees are licensed, bonded, or even covered with workmans comp insurence. they are payed under the table also. he hates customers and uses derogatory names for his female customers. and he drinks on his way home every night.

Jason did a good job, at first. Then once he was paid in full, never finished the job. It's been over a year now since he was paid in full. Finally got him to return my phone call, he left a message saying he would be here on September 30th, never showed up, didn't even call.
