The Northeast Community Center is a nonprofit organization that offers recreational, educational and physical activities for individuals of all ages. Located in Portland, Ore., the center s facility features a swimming pool, gymnasium, sauna room, cardiovascular equipment unit and free weight area with cable, barbell and dumbbell equipment. It conducts aquatics classes, including arthritis exercise, water fitness, deep water workout and first aid assistance. The Northeast Community Center additionally hosts seasonal camps for youths that include outdoor adventures, movie outings, sports activities, crafts, swimming lessons and creative writing sessions. The center also organizes classes in yoga, hapkaido and tai chi. It offers several confidence building activities, such as unicycling, juggling and stilt walking.
