AVOID AT ALL COST!!! Zales Corporation and Vera Wang Labs stole and swapped my engagement ring, replacing it with one for much lower quality.



My fiance bought me a Vera Wang after spending an hour in the store carefully going over the diamond: it had great color and brilliance, one inclusion that was hidden by the prong, and the setting had an imperfection around the sapphire that let us know it was ours. The day after getting it back from resizing we noticed a HUGE crack across the diamond. Also, the color was horribly yellow, the sapphire setting had changed and the prongs did not match the original. It immediately became apparent that this was not the ring my fiancé had meticulously chosen.



Upon explaining our situation at Zales, the manager (who had sent my ring for resizing) accused us of not understanding our purchase. When it became apparent that we had proof, he walked away and let the saleswoman handle us. After seeing photos, even she agreed our ring had indeed been swapped by someone at Zales or Vera Wang.



I am sickened that someone swapped our ring hoping we were too stupid to notice. We are now custom-designing a ring at a local jeweler with all GIA certified diamonds of much higher quality and for LESS than we paid at Zales (with the added benefit that we won't have to send the ring to China for 2 weeks every 6 months for "repair"). This company has ruined what should have been the best experience of my life, and the ONLY benefit is hopefully other people can learn from us and never shop at Zales.
