It is obvious when you talk to Sensei Kirby that he is passionate about Wado-Ryu Karate. His 40+ years of experience with this martial arts form speaks for his credibility. He is also fully vested in helping teach children and adults this amazing lifestyle. His philosophy is very apparent because he starts each class with the phrase "Karate begins and ends with respect." Sensei Kirby has a good mix of children and adult students in his classes. He also has some special needs students that he ensures receive extra help so they can enjoy the classes. He varies the exercises and routines so the students stay interested. Most importantly, he treats every student and parent with respect and expects the same in return. Sensei Kirby works with parents to help make the classes affordable, while still maintaining the very high degree of quality and involvement that set him and his dojo apart from all other dojos. No where else will you go and experience having a ** 7th dan ** black belt teaching and interacting with all belted students, from beginning white belts up to his senior students. Sensei Kirby is caring, strong, a living example of his own philosophy regarding karatedo. He doesn't just talk it, he walks and lives it.
