I was so hopeful when I went to Jamilla. Due to a sickeness I endured, I lost my hair and my eyebrows never grew back. I have dealt with having no eyebrows most of my life. I drew them on daily. I was ecstatic with the thought of having permanent eyebrows and no longer having to draw them on. After Jamilla first did my eyebrows, I was so happy!!! They looked amazing!! After a few weeks, however, they diminished. They got significantly lighter and thinner. I went back for a touch up, and once again they looked amazing! My hope was renewed, but yet again, after a few weeks the same drastic loss of pigmentation occurred. I am back to drawing on my eyebrows on.

During the first visit with Jamilla, she informed my mother and I that our initial payment would include three appointments.

Jamilla has you sign a contract, which is understandable. Within the contract, it states that you are allotted three appointments, but the third appointment must be made 45 days after your second appointment. Jamilla makes you wait four weeks for your eyebrows to heal, once again that is understandable. The problem is when you call to make the appointment four weeks after your brows have healed; she always says she is booked at least two months out! This makes it very difficult to be able to actually get the third appointment within the forty-five day time frame.

My mother and I went to our third appointment to get our eyebrows touched up. As we sat in the waiting room, she came in with our files in her hand and said “I just noticed that you both are out of your 45 day time limit, and I am going to have to charge you extra.” I asked her how much extra and she said $190.00 a piece. I told her that I called immediately after our four weeks of healing, and that her secretary could only book us two months out. She shrugged her shoulders and said that is not her problem. I then reminded her how I had asked during our second appointment if we could schedule our third appointment in advance and she said no because we should wait to see how they turn out. She said she would give us a discount and charge us each a $150.00 instead. Once again I explained that it did not seem fair to me since I felt we are entitled to the third appointment because we already paid for it. She said she never said we would actually get the third appointment. I told her we would not pay the discounted fee either.

As I was getting ready to leave, she told my mother and I that because we were not getting our eyebrows done we would each have to pay a $50.00 no show fee. I was confused as to how we had to pay a no show fee when we drove a total of 4 hours to get there.
