On Friday, December 19th while attending a Christmas party at the American Legion Post 190 in Portsmoth, VA, I lost my wallet which contained two credit cards and a Virginia Drivers Licence. On Saturday morning, December 20th, 2008 at 8:15am, an unidentified person entered this store with my credit cards and ID. An employee who works there accepted the stolen cards and authorized Seven single gift cards or visa cards transactions in the amount of $105.95 (Five times ), one transaction in the amount of $211.90, and one transaction in the amount of $136.46. Clearly, no one purchases these many gift cards in one setting without displaying proof of ID. I suspect that the employee of this store new the perpetrator and allowed this fraudulent transactions to take place. An investigation is currently being launched to ID the prep and store employee. A total of $1062.55 was fraudulently used.
