Tidewater Community College, operational since 1968 and located in Portsmouth, Va., offers educational and extracurricular programs to students. The campus houses administrative offices and student service departments, and is spread over an area of more than 300,000 square feet. The departments offer the college s nursing, trucking, environmental, drafting and welding programs, as well as a range of other programs designed to transfer to four-year institutions. The college offers various courses, such as architecture, accounting, biology, chemistry, art, law, diagnostic medical sonography, humanities, marketing, mathematics and natural science. Other courses offered include dance, music, foreign languages, real estate, political science, engineering, English, environmental science and economics.
