I just want to take the time to share experience with future customers of Tony's Crab and Seafood at 3138 Victory Blvd in Portsmouth VA 23702.



After months of savoring the taste of delicious hot crabs, I finally made it home to VA from NC and headed out to get my crabs. I was extremely excited and couldn't wait to dive into them. I purchased deviled crabs and a fried devil crab. To my surprise after my first bite, I discovered the crab had been frozen. It WAS NOT GOOD AT ALL!!! Of course I had already driven back home to Suffolk before I realized this and wasn't willing to drive all the way back to Portsmouth to complain. I put them in the fridge and reheated them later and the crabs smelled like amonia...BAD!!!! I called to complain with hopes that I would at least get an apology. To my surprise the person on the other end of the phone admitted to me that they freeze the crabmeat. He said, "we make them fresh in the morning then freeze them." Why freeze them when you are going to sell them...those crabs had been frozen for a very long time!! If you freeze something early in the day it doesn't taste frozen later in the day. My advice...DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY GOING THERE...I WILL FROM NOW ON GO TO WICKER'S CRAB POT ON INDIAN RIVER ROAD TO BUY MY CRABS. TONY, I HAVE FROZEN MY MONEY AND WILL NEVER THAW IT FOR YOU AND WON'T APOLOGIZE TO YOU EITHER!!!!
