Established in 1972, the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame honors more than 200 athletes, coaches, administrators, educators and journalists. The hall features college sports, media, Olympics and golf exhibits, as well as baseball, basketball, football, soccer and auto racing activities. Its museum showcases interpretive displays and interactive exhibits of college athletics, Virginia Olympians and local sports events. The Virginia Sports Hall of Fame also displays sports medicine, health and media exhibits. In addition, its meeting space includes multimedia theater, classroom and boardroom. The hall s reception areas maintain an exhibit hall that can accommodate over 500 people. It provides membership options for family members and college and university students.
