Someone asked how to prevent the bees from the feeder: use a one part sugar, to 3 parts water solution- AND, with your finger add a VERY thin layer of Vaseline all around the feeder holes, also on the glass jar. Bees can't settle there. Don't put a lot of vaseline or it will degrade the plastic.
By the way, these are THE BEST! feeders there are. I buy no others. I am in Arizona and have same problem with the bees.

As a councilor in Society of Plastics Engineers, I was given a Best hummingbird feeder years ago. I purchased another online about a year later. Both worked perfectly in Southern California - attracting hummingbirds all year round. In 2005, the house burned to the ground, but the feeders made it . Today, both are hanging outside my office window, faded a little, but still attracting the birds. They were black after the fire and laying in the yard - ready to be bulldozed. When you loose everything, any little thing means a lot. I pulled them out of the ash, scrubbed them and I am looking at them now - the birds just left. They are cleaned in the dishwasher today without problems. They have been in 102+ temp with bright sun on them. Also, I live close to the mountains, and the temps go to freezing. The Santa Ana winds reach almost 100 MPH here at times. (blown off hooks)Anyway, they have been thru more testing than a lab could do and still attract birds, even though a little faded.
