*NO ELECTRIC, * NO WATER HOOK UP Eagle Point Campground is located on the west shore of Schroon Lake. Camping equipment from tents to 30' RV's can be accommodated. The campground offers a variety of recreational opportunities. Schroon Lake covers approximately 4,230 acres and is approximately 9 miles in length, 1 1/2 miles in maximum width, and has a maximum depth of 152 feet. The Village of Schroon Lake has a quaint "Main Street" with shops and restaurants. The Schroon-North Hudson Historical Museum can be found here. Nearby is the Seagle Music Colony which offers plays, operas and concerts. Explore the nearby Natural Stone Bridge and Caves. Canoeing, hiking, boating, fishing and bicycling opportunities abound. Area Attractions Restaurants, antique shops, gift stores, and various craft shops. Historic Interest The land on which the campground is situated was purchased in 1928. It encompassed approximately 1 mile of shoreline on the west side of Schroon Lake and 1 mile of International Highway. Construction of Eagle Point Campground (which derives its name from a sandy point on the shore line) was started in the years 1928-1929 and eight campsites were added in ensuing years to bring the total to 72. Junior Naturalist Program Our campgrounds become an outdoor classroom for young children (5-13) and their families.
