Founded in 1853, Pottsville Area High School offers academic, athletics and extracurricular programs for more than 1,200 students in grades nine through 12. Located in Pottsville, Pa., the school is affiliated with the Pottsville Area School District. It has several facilities, such as science labs, a planetarium and observatory, computer labs, art and music studios, gymnasiums. The school offers many sports activities, including baseball, tennis, softball, track and field, volleyball, cheerleading, basketball, swimming, wrestling, water polo, soccer, golf, football and cross county. It has several academic departments, such as art, business, English, family and consumer science, foreign language, mathematics, music, physical education, science and social studies.
