I am so shocked what they did to my show Sheltie - I cried! I have had Shelties since 1985 and never had any problems getting them groomed professionally. So I made it clear it was his first time at a groomer and to be gentle, giving him a break if he shows signs of distress. Asked to brush out the undercoat and use thinning shears for his overly heavy coat. Also asked to trim his feet and lower legs, as well as giving him a "poop shoot" trim under the anal area, which is very bushy and gets soiled if not trimmed. Was told it would take 2-2.5 hrs, but could be 3 hrs since there was another dog ahead of him. Instead they kept him 6 hours, using the excuse that so many people brought their dogs for free nail cutting-apparently taking precedence over paying customers! My sensitive pup got so nervous he soiled the grooming table with diarrhea. So they butchered his entire rear end all the way to the top of the tail with blunt scissors - not even thinning shears to blend in! The essence of a Sheltie look gone, and taking at least a year to grow back! Apparently they have no idea what a Sheltie is supposed to look like, especially how to trim certain areas for sanitary reasons but without making it visible unless the tail is lifted. Wish I could post a photo of what they did to my dog! Needless to say - I will never go back there, and give them a black eye review wherever and whenever I can!
