Very happy with their service. I had just decided to redo the carpet in my home and was about to start asking around for a reputable carpet installer when I heard their commercial on the radio. It was kismet. Jeff came over a couple of days later and walked me through the process and walked through the various selections based on my budget and use. We agreed on a carpet and he walked me through the warranty from the manufacturer and the warranty from them (the installer) to make sure I was well-informed on the process before, during, and after. My place was furnished so they were OK moving everything out and then back in as each area was done. Everything went smoothly and I'm very happy with the outcome.

Vaughn Carpet, Inc. is still in business and has never been out of business. Not sure why anyone would think that. Have been in business for over 25 years and have many referrals that could be provided of the many happy customers over these years!

Response from Vaughn Caroet, Inc

Ahhh, Mr. & Mrs Cathy Babyak! By far the most difficult customers to work with in over the 24 years that I've been in the flooring business! I would typically think its very petty & immature for me to respond to your review; however when my integrity is questioned and I am falsely accused of lying, I will respond. The installation was very stressful to you two because you had to see every single board removed and installed throughout the entire job. I did not lie about anything and I do NOT lie!! I never said I would personally be on the job every day, I never said the sub-contractor I use works "exclusively" for me, and you were aware, and you approved of your furniture being put into the garage. You are the liar! The back staircase did require additional work and additional cost, which you approved and then later tried to get out of paying for. My subs did not show up 1 day, for which I let u know they had uncontrollable circumstances. They did damage a minute speck on the china cabinet, and which I paid for without question. I am very sorry things did not go as well as I had hoped, but like you said it looks good now! Thats what we do at Vaughn Carpet, Inc. Even when challenges arise and not everything is perfect, such as site conditions, weather, personal issues with an employee, relentless badgering by the customer, we do what it takes to get the job done correctly.

Most Stressful Renovation Ever. Hardwood Floor installation. Got estimate from Jeff Vaughn. Price was comparable to other estimates. Jeff told us he would be on site every day and supervise tear out of old floors and installation of new hardwood. Total lie, Jeff showed up for a few hours the first day, 20 minutes the second day, 2 hours to reattach carpet to tacking strips on day 6, and never after that on a 10 day job. Jeff also told us that the installation crew worked exclusively for him. Total lie. They are subcontractors who work for anyone who hires them. There was a crew leader and a secondary on the floor installation team. One day, neither of them showed up, but four installers did. Two sat around talking on cell phones. The other two installed flooring. One of these two dumped boxes of flooring on top of already installed floor. He also knocked boards in place with a mallet without using a piece of wood to protect the floor edge. Several boards were damaged. They had no supervision. When we called Jeff to complain, Jeff refused to come to our home and said we we micromanaging his crew. We were told our stair treads would be taken up and replaced. It was so stated in the estimate. The installers broke off the front of the old treads and were going to place new treads over top of the old ones. This would have resulted in a too high first step, and a too short last step, and would look terrible. In order to have the treads removed and replaced, we had to pay over $900 additional to the installers because they said our steps needed to be reinforced and it took extra work and materials. We tried to call Jeff, as did the installers, but he did not answer his phone. This was the most stressful renovation we have ever done. Vaughn Carpet did a minimal amount on this hardwood floor installation. The subcontracted installers did all of the work. We were told our furniture would be kept inside, instead it got moved to the garage and covered with dust. It rained several days during the installation. They ran the wood saw in our living room. The house was full of dust. Our china closet was not moved out of the dining room, yet they chipped off a corner of the china cabinet and also marred the top of the china closet. Today, the installers spent 4 hours fixing nicks and bad boards. Our flooring job is finally finished. The new floor is quite nice, but the installation was horribly stressful. I cannot recommend Vaughn Carpet as a hardwood floor installer.
