home rentals

We are two senior ladies that would like to rent a home in Prescott or Prescott Valley. We do have a small cat. We would like it to be 1600-1800 sq.ft. and the rent to be$1200 a mo.If the house will fit our big furniture we would rent indefinitely with great pleasure! Thank you for your time in this matter.

I hope someone reading this will turn the other way and run as fast as they can to the apartments over on Glassford Hill Rd.

My family and I loved the aesthetic look of these apartments and thought we'd love them just as much inside! Wrong. We did tour the model prior to signing our lease and pleased enough to move forward with the renting process. I think we were duped by the lovely decor in their model.

INSIDE: Average sized closets. Nothing like the apartments on Glassford - their closets are HUGE! It was a huge downgrade when we realized how much less space we were getting in this bigger apartment.

FLOORING: We rented a first floor 3 bedroom with newly installed faux wood floors, and carpet in each of the bedrooms. This is exactly what we were looking for. Upon moving in our first piece of furniture (ONE PIECE!) the legs of the chair went right through the faux wood floor and tore it up. (Warning: only move in furniture with wide/fat legs, everything else will tear this floor up!) In the entry, they have tiled installed that is level with the carpet THAT USED TO BE THERE, now you can see a height difference going from the faux wood to the tile. And whoever did the painting dripped paint on the new floors in several areas throughout the rental.

KITCHEN: I don't think the appliances can get any lower-end then when they've installed in their rentals. The stove has no window, the dishwasher doesn't have a top spray, the sink is missing the hose spray (not sure of the name!?), and the fridge looks like it was purchased at a Bent-N-Dent store. The cupboards are encased in veneer that is peeling away.

PARKING: What a NIGHTMARE!!! In typical fashion, each rental is allotted 1 covered parking spot. What you don't find out til you move in (or maybe we didn't ask the right questions)... is that parking is severally over crowded and people will park wherever they want.

AN ADDED BONUS: They will not tow without putting a letter on your car stating that you have 24-hours to move or else get towed. So that pretty much means a free-for-all because you won't get towed as long as you are gone within the 24-hours. They have no signage up for a towing company - so therefor a towing company (or even the company they work with to do towing) is allowed to do anything until that 24-hours is up. If a car has been in your parking spot for over 24-hours and the office is closed... good luck with that, you might as well extend the length of that 24-hour notice because nothing is going to happen.

On average, driving in the second entrance there are between 4-7 cars parked in the circle... AS THERE IS NO GUEST PARKING AVAILABLE WITHIN THE PROPERTY (because it's always full and no one ever moves their vehicle once they get a visitor spot).

OUTSIDE: The pool is pretty and easy on the eyes but it's ALWAYS South Pole cold. The heater is never on, in the middle of summer our kids only swim for about 5 minutes because their lips and fingers always turn blue. Because of the building casting a shade on the pool, it NEVER warms up from the sun and it's totally false (on their website) that it's heated.

The property is a gated property but the GATES don't work. They stay open 24/7, and they will tell you this, if you ask, during the tour. We asked but didn't think it would be an issue... knowing now, if they gates worked - that would eliminate about 4-5 cars parking up the second entrance.

LIVING IN BOTH PLACES: Terraces and the place on Glassford. If you're looking for the little things in a nice apartment -> run to Glassford. The parking is AMAZING, they enforce it. The pool is always heated. Nice(r) kitchen appliances.

Sometimes the grass isn't greener on the other side. :/

Thankfully this place rents in 10-month leases instead of 12-month.
