The East Kentucky Science Center and Planetarium, located on the Prestonsburg campus of Big Sandy Community and Technical College has a 3000 square foot exhibit space, a 40 seat classroom, a gift shop, and a 40 foot domed planetarium, seating 85, that is one of the most technologically advanced planetariums in the United States. The Science Center, owned and operated by Big Sandy Community and Technical College, is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday, with planetarium shows at 2:00 and laser shows at 3:15.
