About German-Bliss Equipment Inc In the 1930s, Lou German moved his family to Peoria, Illinois from Paducah, Kentucky in hopes of finding work. Lou followed his dream of selling farm equipment in the spring of 1940 by opening his own shop, L.E. German Implement Company. Louâ??s son, Chuck, began to take a larger role in the company during the 1950s. He obtained the Ford Tractor franchise, opened a new branch in Peoria, became a State of Illinois certified truck testing facility, and recognized the potential of selling Kubota tractors which enabled the company to become the oldest and largest Kubota dealer in Illinois.
