This place is a total bait and switch scheme. I wasted over two hours of my very precious time going there... I scheduled a free appointment for 12:30 waited for 15 minutes. Then I was taken into a room, was told to put on some shorts and sat and waited for another 15 minutes. A girl named Megan came in and told me to lie down on the exam table. She asked if I had any pain. I told her NO (very important later on), and that my only issue was just how my veins looked after having babies. She scanned my legs, and was done in about 5 minutes. She told me that my veins were not working properly and that it was good that I came in early and not waited until they got worse. She told me that I needed to come back for a more comprehensive scan which would take about an hour and would cost around $400. Frustrated and, frankly, feeling like I had just fallen into a bait and switch kind of thing, I told her that my time was valuable and to see if they could just do it then, so I wouldn't have to come back (If you are a busy mom, you know how hard it is to find some free time that works for your schedule, your kids and babysitters). She checked and told me that it would be fine. She scanned my legs again--same thing just more in depth. It took about 20 minutes. I went into another room, watched a video, somebody came in, took my blood pressure and pictures of my legs, the insurance person also came in and we talked about what the insurance would/would not cover. I was planning on paying it on my own, and from the numbers she told me it would have been about 5-6K, which I didn't have a problem with, if it fixed the problem. I had to keep waiting to see the nurse practitioner, Jason. I talked to the insurance person about waiting so long, and she (and later Jason), made me feel like I was lucky that they squeezed me into their schedule. Why did they squeeze me in if I had to wait the same as if I came back another day? So here is where it gets good, really good⦠Jason finally comes in, and after talking with him for a while, I was told that because I had NO PAIN and because my problem was just cosmetic, that there was nothing they could do to help me, except to get rid of the spider vain--which pretty much any decent medical spa will do, that was not why I went there. What a freaking joke!!!! Why wasn't I told that during the free appointment!?! An unbelievable disregard for my time and money (I doubt my insurance will cover this $400 appointment). I will never put my feet in that place again!

The staff at Intermountain Vein Center helped me through the process of making sure my insurance would cover my procedures. It was very easy to get an appointment, and their office was very fun and professional. I DIDN'T EVEN NEED A REFERRAL FROM ANOTHER PHYSICIAN! As soon as I checked in, they offered me a drink and a cookie. The doctor's were obviously very knowledgeable and new the best ways to treat my condition. I'm so glad I chose to come to Intermountain Vein Center rather than anywhere else.
