Provided by YP.com***AMBER is the greatest*** I'm pretty picky when it comes to my hair. I stopped going to get my hair cut and started cutting it my self for years because I couldn't find anyone who cared to do a good job as much as I did. Then I met Amber! She has fine attention to detail, makes you feel good and makes you look good. I now have someone I trust. Highly recommend her.

Provided by YP.comDo not come here after going to another person. They don't listen to the fact that your hair has changed and you want something new. They go back to their notes and fail to care that you are not satisfied. The people may be nice but they need to work on their craftsmanship.

Provided by YP.comPerfect cuts for the business man!
This is the best salon in Provo! Hands down, the quality of service, the professionalism of the staff, and the relaxed atmosphere are unmatched in Provo. Don't even get me started on how reasonable the prices are! I've spent triple, sometimes 4x the amount at other salons, and have never been this satisfied.
Alisa has been my stylist for a few months, since she started back with the salon after she finished her mission (if you haven't, you should read the post about her on Salon On The Ave's Facebook page! You'll get a discount for your first cut if you ask for Alisa and mention the Facebook post!).
I'm an engineer, but in my line of work I am always meeting with clients, running meetings, presenting, etc. I have to look great. Since I've been coming to Alisa, I have had so many more compliments on how I look, with emphasis on my hair.
The first time I went in, she gave a great (free) consultation. We talked about what I want, and what would look good. It was great, and Alisa has been able to give me exactly what I want (and what looks best), every time! The best part is that she makes it look modern, and it's SO easy to manage and style on my own because she helped me get the right products. I had been getting the wrong things all these years, and I had NO idea! I hate when a stylist gives me something that only she can make look good! Thank goodness Alisa knows how to help me take care of my hair even after I leave the salon.
It gets even better though, Alisa will give FREE neck shaves, and she'll trim the hair around my ears between my haircuts with her, and all I have to do is schedule it with her. When she does it, she gives you a hot towel treatment on your neck (which is fantastic) and then she uses a straight edge razor for the cut. Straight edge is the best! I looked it up because it was so nice. They prevent razor burn, and give me an amazing shave.
Well, I've written WAY more than I intended, but I honestly can't say enough how much I appreciate how well I've been treated at Salon On The Ave, and especially by Alisa. Thank you!

Provided by YPmobileI wanted to make this review because of how unprofessional a specific hairstyles is! I got my hair done by Kassi and it was down hill from there. The color was all wrong and when I asked her to fix it, meaning just dye my hair back to the original color she said she would fix it and never did. She started ignoring my texts. I eventually got frustrated and asked for a refund and I had to communicate with her boyfriend because she didn't want to talk to me. We agreed on a refund amount. I'm still waiting on that, it's been a week and a half and I haven't heard from her. If you want to avoid an issue just avoid kassi.

Provided by YPmobileI go to Ashley, she is Awesome! I always walk out of the salon feeling great!!! I have hair extensions and have for years. She colors my hair perfect and it last a long time and matches my extensions every time. She always tells me about newer and better products so if I want to try them I know there out there.Ashley does hair extensions the best, they are tight they stay in and even when I let them go longer than I should they stay in like a champ. She cuts my hair exactly how I ask her and makes sure it's how I want it before I leave without making me feel rushed. The salon is relaxing and every one seems really sweet. It's a great salon!

Provided by YP.comI decided to step up and go to a real hair salon after many years of avoiding them. WOW! I have had a couple of cuts and colors and have never been as happy with my hair. I have had some poor hair color experiences and started doing my own so that I really only had myself to blame if the color was wrong. Thanks to Rachel Fisler, I will never do my own hair. RACHEL, YOU ARE AMAZING!

Provided by YP.comI had a full leg, bikini and under-arm wax done at Salon on the Ave by esthetician Mckenze Manning, and it was the fastest, most professional wax I have ever had done! I have been to many places in the Utah Valley area to have waxing done, and none of the estheticians I've had appointments with compare to Mckenze's skill, speed and reasonable prices. Other people have taken 2-3 hours to complete what Mckenze can get done in about an hour or less. Very satisfied with my experience, and won't be going anywhere else!

Provided by YP.comI went to the Salon on the Avenue because my regular gal had just had surgery and I needed a partial highlight/low light weave on my long blonde hair. I chose Salon on the Avenue because of all the positive online reviews here. The only thing I can guess after having received services here is that each of these positive reviews was done by friends of the very proactive owner. After the horrible experience here, I talked to 3 others who had also had their hair nearly irreparably botched at Salon on the Avenue!
DO NOT get your color done at this salon!!!
I am not a novice at hair color. I came into the salon asking for the same color that I ALWAYS have done on my blonde hair for lowlights. It was fine- in the back where she used that color. But the young gal didn't even weave it evenly, leaving chunks not woven, large places without and uneven chunks with solid blocks of color. When she ran out of what she had mixed (the color I requested) she mixed a DIFFERENT color to finish lowlighting the front which caused my hair to go nearly black on my blonde! I asked for NOT CHUNKY highlights and got 3/4 inch strips in the few places she was competent enough to weave evenly, which sadly- wasn't consistent over the entire head of hair. People who saw me afterwards spontaneously laughed and said I looked like a zebra!
I kept my cool and when I nicely asked the gal after she was done if we could lighten it up some (trying to be nice but was panicking inside) she was very defensive but agreed to try. At that point, the gal who did my hair and another employee went to the back room where the chemicals are (not 15 feet from the chair I sat in) and with the door open, started mocking me and making fun of me for being unreasonable and that my hair looked "FINE!"
Zebra stripes and all, I got up from my chair. I shouldn't have paid for my service but I did. I left in tears. When the owner called some time after, having heard I was unsatisfied, she had obviously been told that I got what I asked for and I misheard what I heard discussed in the back room because the girls were obviously "just discussing how best to correct color". There was no telling her differently as defensive as she was and I finally just quietly asked to just please let me alone, as the whole experience was awful and expensive and terrible.
The woman I went to the next day to have it corrected asked where I went to get such a technically horrible color service done and when I told her the name of the salon, she kind of laughed. Apparently, she's fixed many a service from this place and this specific girl! She said that the hair was drastically uneven in it's weaving, that the color I had requested was fine but only woven on one half on one side of my head in the back and the continuation of color where the girl had to remix more was a completely different color than the one she had previously used.
To correct the mistakes, she had to soap strip my hair, reweave the unevenly woven portions and correct the cut and still charged just HALF of what I spent at Salon on the Avenue.
In my own small social circles, 4 of us have received services at the Salon on the Avenue that have required correction. I wish I had asked around instead of trusting these online reviews. My own experience was that the Salon on the Avenue was not only technically incompetent, but extremely unprofessional.
Go at your own peril!

Provided by YP.comI loved this place! My stylist, Betsy, was very very nice and took extra time to ask questions about what I wanted and to find pictures showing the back of the cut I wanted. (It was a short cut and hard to see the back.) I was very impressed with my entire experience here and I am so glad I finally found a place and stylist I love!

Provided by YPmobileI've been going to Ashley for for about 7 years now, and I have never been disappointed. She always does exactly what I want, from cut to color to waxing, and everything in between. Salon on the Ave's prices can't be beat. I brag all the time about how much I pay to get my hair done, and people can't believe it. I would highly recommend going to Ashley, she is absolutely the best!!

Provided by YP.comOk, seriously love this place. I've had Betsy cut my hair twice now and she is AMAZING. She actually listened to everything I said and then cut my hair the way I asked. When I said only take of 1/4" that's what she did. Most hairstylists idea of an inch is actually 2". She didn't make me feel intimidated or rushed, I was able to express what I wanted. The price is really good to. Costcutters makes it seem like they are less expensive because their cuts are $15 but it's another $10 to have them dry and style. At Salon on the Ave. it $25 for shampoo, cut, dry and style... the whole shabang! Great price and great hairstylist. I would highly recommend Betsy!
