FELLOW BUSINESS OWNERS OF PUEBLO:
I am writing this to alert you as to a major scam Sandy Deal of the Country Oven Bakery (here in Pueblo, CO) is pulling with fellow business owners. For what she has done and is still attempting to do, she should be ‘tarred and feathered’ and tossed out of Pueblo.
After she befriends you, she will ask you for money (primarily on a weekend) saying she forgot to go to the bank Friday and needs money and that she will pay you back in no more than a few days. That’s when your nightmare will happen. She has a bag full of outrageous lies and excuses as to why she cannot pay you back as intended. It’s a never ending bag of excuses….and some real lame ones at that! She’ll insult your intelligence with these excuses and think nothing of it.
Even after telling her that the money I loaned her was from a vacation account we had been saving for (for well over two years) and soon to depart on, she promised she would repay the $1,240.00 in a week’s time as she was drafting the money from her 401K. Then tells me a two weeks later, she has the check and will go to Wells Fargo to cash it and be it right at my office to repay me in a few minutes, only to leave me sit there for a couple of hours - no show, no call.
I could never do such a thing to a ‘friend’. To be so insensitive is a person to be devoid of any integrity or creditability. I just learned I’m not the only one she’s done this to. This is why I am alerting you.
Then the next day she texts and says “Sooo sorry, an emergency came up” and it goes on and on and on from there. What did she do - forget her phone can be used to call someone and not just text from - a day later?
Legal action is being implemented but, I feel all businesses and the general public in Pueblo should be aware of this scam of hers. I think the DA’s office should look into this as well.
Hold onto your wallets!

Provided by YP.comOn their website this bakery says,"we will make your dream a reality" AND "we never fail" ! Yeah right !!!!! After this weekend in the 2 and 1/2 hours that I spent in this bakery waiting for my cake they FAILED not only me but 8 other people who had problems with all the cakes they ordered too ! I was told my cakes would be ready at noon I was there and told they weren't ready and I needed to come back in 30 minutes when I returned in 30 minutes they still were not ready! I waited and waited and continued to be told it would be just a few more minutes during this time several customers came in to pick up cakes that were either not ready, had the wrong name put on them, were the wrong flavor, color, etc. And I'm not saying weren't ready for a few minutes I mean entire hours or 2 before they would be finished and already had parties starting and no cakes ! Just like mine, my childs birthday party was going for 2 hours before I even arrived with the cake, that when I finally got it after 2 and1/2 hours, the cake had a blurred picture even my 3 year old asked what happened to the cake, why did it look funny ! The cake had and no other decorations on the cake but happy birthday and my childs name, nothing to make it special. I also asked for a cheescake to be made for the party because my child loves cheese cake, THEY DIDN'T EVEN BOTHER TO MAKE IT !!!!! I spoke with the owner and she acted as if it were no big deal, obviously from the looks of the other people that came in she has a habit of regularly disappointing people. I spoke with 2 other friends in regards to this incident who informed me that they had problems with this same bakery. One of them ordered a cake for a reunion that ended up completely wrong, not made the way they had agreed upon and it was 2 hours late. my other friend said that at her best friends wedding to which she was maid of honor and paid for her friends cake. This bakery failed to show up with the cake and when they called about it and they finally arrived the WEDDING CAKE, mind you, one of the most important days in a persons life, was the wrong color, the cake was frozen, it was the wrong size and she put cheesy plastic flowers from the dollar store all over it to dress it up. Had I have talked to my friends prior I would NEVER have used this bakery and I suggest you don't either if you want things done right and you actually want to see your cake on the day you ordered it for. One person who came in while I was sitting in the bakery waiting had to bring the graduation cake back they ordered because the entire cake was chocolate and her son couldn't eat chocolate and when she called to tell them they made a mistake the informed her that they knew they made a mistake but sent her out with the cake because it was all they had !!!! Are you kidding me! How can anyone do business like this? How inconsiderate! PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS BAKERY !!!!!
