Gas Stop always has the lowest price for gas on Pueblo's southside. It is near my house, has tons of pumps to handle a large volume of customers so you never have to wait. But today I didn't gas up there because I went to pay with a check as I always have done. Only there was a sign on the door saying they no longer accept checks. Well, I had to go elsewhere because I only had checks on me at the time. I was disappointed, but not really upset because I know how risky it is for business to take checks these days. But what really curdled my blood was the fact that the sign also said they no longer accept coin. I bet they make you change in coin.... Besides, isn't coin "legal tender" in the USA? There are a lot of folks in the nearby projects that may need to pay in coin on occasion and I feel that this policy demonstrates a gross disrespect for those financially disadvantaged customers. I'm not going back to Gas Stop until they change that hypocritical and predjudiced policy on coins!
