Operational for more than 100 years, the Punta Gorda Fire Department is a community-oriented organization that provides a range of public services. The fire department offers lives and property protection, medical life support, fire suppression, hazardous materials response and identification and water rescue services. Its fire suppression division offers pre-fire planning of commercial and multifamily occupancies and the annual inspection program. The division also conducts additional programs, including senior and children fire safety, blood pressure checks, fire extinguisher education and home safety checks. The Punta Gorda Fire Department s fire prevention division is responsible for keeping the citizens of the city and their property safe from fire and other life-threatening incidents. The division is also responsible for reviewing all commercial and multifamily construction plans. The Punta Gorda Fire Department is located in Punta Gorda, Fla.
