I volunteered at metro animal services Puyallup Washington they are low kill , utilize rescue groups, keep animals longer trying to find the perfect forever home the animal you are talking about may have so ill that may hhave had to happen

Don't send a stray animal to this shelter unless you want it euthanized. Had a stray cat picked up 4pm Friday, called on Monday to let them know I was working on finding an adoption family and by 11am on Thursday was told it was put down on Wednesday. They didn't even hold her for a full 3 working days that the earlier employee told me they would. Metro Animal Services & Adoptions should be called Metro Animal Dis-Service
