Martin Van Buren High School is governed by The New York City Department of Education. Located in Queens Village, N.Y., the school has an annual enrolment of more than 3,000 students in grades nine through 12. It offers instruction in a wide range of academic areas. Martin Van Buren High School also offers a variety of programs, such as scholars, advanced placement, science and social science research, business and computer technology, peer tutoring and college counseling programs. The school also offers Saturday workshops in laboratory science. It arranges various extracurricular activities, including mock trial and moot court law competition, annual Shakespeare competition and key club. The school has several teams for basketball, baseball, soccer, fencing, track and field, softball, bowling, volleyball and cheerleading.
