The Quincy Area Vocational Technical Center, also known as QAVTC, offers training courses for high school students and adults. The center, founded in 1972, provides access to more than 10 career and technical courses. It offers instruction in business management, construction, automotive technology, computer application, child care, and welding and machining. The Quincy Area Vocational Technical Center also administers an adult education program. The center provides courses in health occupations, drafting, commercial foods, graphic communications, automobile body repair and electronics. In addition, it manages a career development center. The Quincy Area Vocational Technical Center is one of the educational facilities governed by Quincy Public School District 172.
