I too am a sales rep like the previous poster. I work very heavily in Brooks County and I too spend a lot of time driving. I have worked this area for over 4 years and have never received a ticket. Why? Because I don't speed. It's very simple. Your erratic driving should not be a negative reflection on the county, but rather a reflection of their commitment to keeping it safe. My father was a tow truck driver when I was a child and I rode along with him many times. I saw too many accidents caused by people simply having a disregard for the posted speed limit. Keep up the good work Brooks County. I'm sure people would much rather pay a fine than if it saves their life.

I just received my third ticket in this county (Brooks) within the past four years. I also just discovered from a fellow sales rep that he's received two in the same county in the past two years. Then just don't speed right? I'm a sales rep and spend an inordinate amount of time on the road in these very rural S. Georgia communities.

Sad, but this is what most of these small towns in America have become. They are communities with no industry, no growth (outside of government spending- see courthouses, hospitals & fire stations) and no real prospects for any private sector growth.

However, when it comes to their concern for the general public's safety on the roads they spring into action like a fortune 50 machine, lol. Brooks County (Quitman) has basically become the Waldo/Lawtey, FL of S. Georgia, it's a speed trap. Avoid this city and county at all cost, or you will pay. You'll be safer but you'll pay, just ask the locals.
