Founded in 1917, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Rahway is an acute care community hospital that provides inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services. Rahway's emergency department cares for more than 32,000 patients per year. The hospital is a Primary Stroke Center with telemedicine capability for 24/7 coverage. The campus is home to Care Connection, a licensed subacute rehab unit owned by Alaris Health, and Kindred Hospital New Jersey‐Rahway, a long‐term acute care hospital for medically complex patients who need intense specialized treatment for an extended period of time. The hospital also provides a wide range of outpatient services to meet patient's health needs.
