I am African American with medium hair. Meaning I can blow it out and press it and it is soft and manageable. When I stopped in to ask about their services, I got everything but "a thank you for asking, no". I then went to the website to find out why they were so ready to get me out of the door. eSTee Salon says they offer the services Brazilian Blowout, and cut, but refused to serve me? Curious? So was I. I called and confronted them on the services on their website. So I finally asked IS IT BECAUSE I AM AFRICAN AMERICAN? (Mind you I am on the phone- they never asked about what my grade was or touched it to see if it was pliable when I was in the shop.) The receptionist answered they have no knowledge of working with African American or my grade of hair. Here are the questions: How do you have a salon full of women with certifications, and you have no one that has the knowledge to do the service you advertise? How can you have won an award for being adequate for a skill you obviously are not secure in? Are you ignorant, racist, or both?
