The roof was not shingled properly so there was inside water damage. The wrong dishwasher was installed. The bath tub was installed with a crack in it. M/I will not replace the tub. They will only patch the hole. The floor under the tub appears to have water damage. Three windows were installed with cracked glass and have to be replaced. The padding under the carpet was not install properly. There are gaps that show up under the carpet. Furnace was not installed properly. The water catch pay overflowed. The light switch cover plates were installed too close to the door frames so they do not lay flat on the wall. The closet organizers were hung too low to the floor - only 5 feet from the floor. I could go on. Bottom line, do not have M/I Homes build your home. They would rather come in and fix things instead of doing a quality job up front.
