Alta Loma Elementary is a Title I school serving students in grades kindergarten through 6 and is located in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. It is one of 10 schools in the Alta Loma School District and serves a suburban area located below the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains. The school offers a variety of subjects, including development and application of reading, mathematics and language arts skills, as well as computer literacy, fine arts, science, social science, and health and physical education. It has approximately 25 English language learners and offers students the GATE program for gifted students. Alta Loma Elementary participates each year in the Governor s Reading Program and encourages independent reading outside the classroom.
