Central High School, located in Rapid City, S.D., is a part of Rapid City Area Schools District, and serves students in grades nine through 12. The school enrolls more than 2,200 students, and provides academic education, information technology and career-oriented courses. The school s curriculum includes various disciplines, such as English, foreign languages, mathematics, fine arts, health, science and social studies. It also offers programs in scientific research, physical, health and special education, and advanced placement programs. The school offers various extracurricular activities, including band and instrumental music, dance, theater and drama, gymnastics and choirs. Additionally, the school has a library and media center that provide a large collection of curriculum books, magazine and newspapers, and offer access to the Internet. Central High School also offers the National Honor Society program, and various athletic activities, including basketball, golf, football, volleyball, soccer and tennis.
