***This complaint really needs to be attached to the home office in Naperville, IL and the store in Raymore, Missouri. There were no options to choose their location to file the complaint with, I looked real hard on the list you had. Actually since I am sure it is a all store practice the complaint really could be filed on each and every store as well***
GOUGE, GOUGE AND GOUGE SOME MORE!!! Thank you so kindly for raking me over the coals on sending a simple fax. I was having problems with my fax and went to Office Max. I should have just gone to my bank and asked them to fax it for me. I thought it was going to be $1.99 (which is a nice, proud fee for a simple fax). Come to find out upon paying that was for the first page. It was $1.79 for each additional page. They make it appear like you are either dialing local or long distance... Come on! Any one with any kind of common sense knows the faxes are getting funneled thru either a 800 / 888 number or over the web. Those faxes are not costing you hardly anything at all. Maybe 1 penny a page if even that? They are just making it look like long distances charges to help justify the gouge. If (on the outside chance) Office Max has not figured out and done what I mentioned then they are not failing to do common sense things to be a cost effective supplier and do not know how to look for saving for their customers. Which is it? A gouge or lack of ability to find cost effective solutions for their customers? It has to be one or the other. Even long distance does not cost anywhere near that in the U.S. How about using a Magic Jack and dedicating a computer to hook that to? Wouldn't that be a good way to be kind to your customers? I was also looking to purchase a very heavy duty stapler and a laptop but after I noticed the additional fee per page as it was finishing I decided I was never going to give business their way again. Never will I step foot thru your doors. Hope the fax gouge was worth it??? I would say your customer but I am not your customer anymore! Greg
NOTE: Maybe someone needs to donate a laptop and magic jack so the store can send all their faxes for per store for $20 - $30 per year. Maybe the store is struggling financially and cannot afford those things so they can be fair to their customers?
DESIRED OUTCOME:
Office Max needs to overhaul the way they handle faxes in all of its store locations and try being kind to your customers instead of taking advantage of them and raking them over the coals in a pro-active attempt to gouge customers needing the service. Shame on you Office Max! If you are a good company you will do no more than what is right. If you don't know how to go about it the solution is in the complaint. Just follow the suggestions, there a common sense problem handled for you buy a person using no more than common sense.
