The Raymore Police Department preserves peace and order, prevents and detects crime, apprehends offenders and protects residents lives and property. It operates an investigations unit that is responsible for the prevention of crime, the investigation of criminal and juvenile cases, the detection and arrest of criminal offenders, the locating of missing persons and runaway juveniles, and the recovery of lost and stolen property. The Raymore Police Department maintains a citizens police academy that provides training programs related to law, firearms instruction, defensive tactics and first aid. The police department also has an investigations unit that is tasked with follow-up investigative work on reported criminal activities and it serves as a subsequent liaison with the prosecutor's office for the filing of charges at the municipal, state and federal levels.
