Bobby Wilson was initially contacted to do a patio slab and walkway----He suggested an outdoor kitchen--a great idea we felt. We questioned why his website did not reflect that skill set, he told us he wasn't allowed to show it. We now know why, based on the workmanship for the finishing details of our outdoor kitchen.

Bobby presented himself as a very reliable, wanting to do a good job type of contractor-- he is very personable. His persona allowed us to "feel comfortable" doing business with him and we let our guard down for a more thorough scrutiny of his work ethics. He initially submitted a "work summary" statement versus giving us an actual contract. Fortunately, we had him draw up an actual contract--we later needed it. The contract stated that the work be done in a "workmanlike manner-- a large portion of it was not. --it was not good working with this contractor who was only partially hands on with supervising his crew. He did not make sure his laborers work was quality and seemingly relied on some laborers that he hadn't worked with before. He sent a laborer to hang a security door--- 1. We were told on a Friday the person would arrive on the next Monday-- (as was often the case with the laborers this contractor used and himself as well) no one show up and did not call -- they came two weeks later, (unannounced) we told them we had to leave, they insisted they could hang the exterior door without having access to the interior door-- the result was a poorly hung door! 2. The laborers who cut the beams for the patio cover, made jagged cuts. 3. We had pavers installed--the painters he sent over to paint the covered patio, splashed paint on the pavers 4. Stepping stones were inset into the concrete walkway--the excess concrete was not wiped off the stones while still wet, unnecessarily resulting in dried concrete on the stones. There are other issues, but clearly, paying attention to quality work and communicating was not his strong suit.

We feel, there was a general lack of concern for the quality of the overall final project. It seems reflective of a contractor who did not value his name being on a job. We made numerous attempts, asking him to just finalize the work. He finally had a conversation with us and admitted what we had suspected. He had been working on another job--it was larger than ours. We asked him if our job was indicative of his best quality work-- he said it wasn't. We had told him in a previous email, that his name alone was on our job; meaning the quality reflected his work ethics. We asked him to properly finish the job , or give us a reduced figure to terminate the contract and we would have someone else, professionally finish and make the needed corrections. He chose to "cash" out! We feel this decision was a possible indication of his value of his work ethics. Contract terminated May 2015
