A "has been" bar...sigh..used to be fun and cool. Now not so much.

My BFF was home from college for a month. We decided to hit up some old haunts...We went to Celtic Bayou to "re-live" ol' times. We went on trivia night. We sat at the bar and had some brews n chips. Neither bad, but not great either. Unfortunately the bar smelled of sweat and urine cakes. The bar stools dig into the back of your legs and remind you to leave soon. We were having fun catching up and being friendly with the locals around us. (Kind of looked like a group of young Microsquish professionals). We played the silly trivia game and did horribly because we have both been super busy getting 3 degrees between the 2 of us to do much "trivial reviewing". The guy running the game was a bit snarky with the crowd and acted like we were wasting his time!? During the tally (we did very poorly and knew it but were having fun trying) the host made fun of us and said we were probably the 2 stupidest people he had ever seen! Seriously this is comedy? Even the guys around us looked confused at the host. The bartender chewed her finger nails and I found a weird colored hair in my beer...hmmmm I asked with some humor for a "hair free" beer and she disappeared for 8 minutes before returning and a bit gruffly apologizing and pouring a new beer into a glass that smelled like bleach. I politely declined and asked for the bill. She billed us for the beer! I said ”I am not entirely delighted with paying for this beer”. She did end up taking the beer off the bill after waiting for her to help everyone else 1st! I tipped her 15%. However I almost always tip 20%+ because I had to sling beers while I was putting myself through college and I understand how tough that job is… so she missed out. Needless to say my friends and I will not be back. We paid with crisp fresh bills which we will now be taking elsewhere. Cheers! I’d rather go to the Issaquah Brewhouse where the house smells dank, the staff is knowledgeable and surly, BUT the beer is fantastic and the food is pretty good too. Take note CB you have to have at least 1 out of the 4 to get return customers.
