Beware - Do Not Hire Custom Paint & Home Repair!! As of 8/19/16, John Pope's contractor's license is suspended. I have contacted his bonding company to notify them of this action as well. If John and his crew are working as of the suspension date, he is doing so Illegally! I have a $2,300 judgment against this company for defective work and failure to return door deposit. As of yet, the judgment has not been satisfied. His company does not even qualify for one star however to provide a review, an entry must be made.

I met with John for a bid to paint the exterior of my house. John was very professional and explained to me exactly what to expect from his company. John made suggestions on the type of paint to use and was very helpful in educating me on these choices.

John’s crew was right on time for the day of pressure washing and then very timely during the prep and painting days. At the end of each day the guys thoroughly cleaned up before they left. Our house looks great!

John and his crew were amazing. He was very much in touch with our needs and very flexible to work with us on a tight schedule. I had to have my rental property touched up between tenants and he was more than happy to accommodate all of our requests, usually saying "no problem". He made sure to follow up with us to make sure we were happy with the result, AND offered very competitive prices. I will definitely use them again for any painting needs, and they will probably be my first choice for any other home improvements given the great results and customer focus.

What a wonderful set of painters. I wanted a couple rooms and the halls painted and called these guys based on reviews. John was here for a quote within hours and gave me a very fair quote. In fact, it was so fair and their attention to detail was so fantastic, I had them paint additional rooms and now having them paint the molding throughout the house. They are very helpful, flexible and go the extra mile. Best of all they leave the house as they found it each night so it does not impact living in your house while they paint. We will need to do exterior painting this spring and will definitely call John back out to do it. I highly recommend them.

I purchased my Redmond home in the spring of 2005. Although the house had recently been painted, it quickly became apparent to me that the prior owners had not only used the worst paint they could find, they’d used the worst painter they could hire. As the house paint began to crack, I could see that no primer had been used prior to painting, nor was the paint really suitable for outdoor use. I lived with this sub-standard situation until I couldn’t take it anymore!



I solicited bids from several painters including one from Custom Paint and Home Repair. John Pope’s bid was by far the most reasonable however given my experience with the paint job I’d inherited I decided it would be prudent to check his references so I spoke with three prior clients, all of whom reported stellar experiences and delight with the quality of his company’s work.



John and his crew showed up early on a Monday morning. By Tuesday afternoon they’d finished painting the entire house, including the shutters and underneath the eaves, which the prior painter had neglected to address at all. They even recommended that I replace the old 1960’s outdoor lighting with more modern looking hardware. John personally came back and hung the new fixtures for no extra charge.

I am delighted with both the quality of paint they choses and job Custom Paint and Home Repair did for me.



For anyone looking for a professional, quality whole-house paint job, I’d highly recommend calling John Pope and hiring them to do the job. You WILL be thrilled with their results.

John and his crew did a great job painting my house. They arrived on time, solved an unanticipated problem, and completed the job in an efficient manner.

in addition to doing a great paint job, they were very respectful of our time and property. I felt they went out of their way to accommodate our schedule and they did not paint over problems on our home exterior but addressed them directly..

John and his team were awesome. They turned around a paint job on our new condo in a short time and were able to get it done by the time we moved in. He also recommended a great electrician that worked with him to mount our TV and do all the necessary outlet-moving and cable pass-through.



After we moved in, we discovered some peculiarities with the paint that we had chosen (we were leaving greasy hand prints all over it). Turns out that specific style (matte finish) of that specific color has that problem. John came over, took a look, and said he would fix it. Within a week he came back and repainted the entire wall with a new style (satin) that works much better.



John's attention to detail and overall candor made choosing him as our painter an easy call. We'll be using him to paint the rest of our place as we choose our new designs.
