I have been in therapy several times and Derrick by far has been the most helpful and knowledgeable. I have been to 3 sessions and already have learned skills that have improved my relationships. He is very compassionate yet states the truth with kindness. We don't always like to hear the truth and that often times ticks people off. He doesn't tip toe around the bush but if you are open minded and willing to change he will help you. Best therapist I have had in years. Thank you Derrick!!!

I saw Derrick Johnson for 4 sessions to discuss relationship issues, anxiety, and depression. He didn't really seem to know what he was doing in the first session, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt. That was a big mistake! In the second and third session he was very blaming, confrontational, and argumentative. Since this was my 1st time with a counselor, I thought that might be part of his approach, but I see now that it's just him. I ended up walking out of the 4th session because I was actually feeling way worse than before I met him!

Bottom line: Derrick Johnson does not know how to be helpful to people dealing with anxiety and depression, and he actually made my problems worse. I really don't think he has what it takes to be a good coubselor.
