Dr. Waqaar Ahmad is a vein specialized interventional radiology MD at Vein Nevada. Dr. Ahmad is fellowship-trained in Vascular and Interventional Radiology with ABMS board certification in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology. He's experienced in minimally invasive venous treatments, including radiofrequency ablation (Closurefast), phlebectomy, VenaSeal Closure, and interventional pain management procedures such as epidural spine injections, facet injections, and nerve blocks. Dr. Ahmad earned his Doctor of Medicine degree at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. He next finished a transitional year residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Ahmad completed his Diagnostic Radiology residency training at Yale-New Haven Health at Bridgeport Hospital and his fellowship training in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Dr. Ahmad has numerous publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals and has presented at several national society annual meetings, including AUR, NASCI, and SIR. He has a particular interest in interventional and endovascular therapies. Before relocating to Northern Nevada, Dr. Ahmad served as an interventional radiologist at both outpatient facilities and level 1 trauma centers in Scottsdale, Arizona.
