Provided by YP.comDecember 2nd, we called Time Zone Motel in Reno for availability & was told to come over. A note on their door said go next door. At Horseshoe Motel, we learned there was no availability at Time Zone, so we paid $900 for the 3rd floor of Horseshoe.
After checking in we found out;
#1 the elevator was broke
#2 when I mentioned I had an Emotional Support Chihuahua, I was told if I brought him, I'd be kicked out
#3 the laundry was next door at the Time Zone
#4 there were no bedside lamps, just 1 glaring stick-up across the room
Both of us have disability issues. He is paralyzed in his right leg & arm from strokes & I have disorders, back injuries, fibromialgia, post-concussion syndrome & am losing my sight. We both have poor balance & stumbled on the stairs often. I told them we were having trouble with the stairs, but no helpful accommodations were offered. Because we use them for balance, I just had to wipe down the stickey, filthy walls.
We constantly had to go up & down the 2 flights of stairs asking for;
#1 remote batteries
#2 broken laundry refund (I got none.)
#3 when the elevator would be fixed
#4 a lamp (I mentioned my bad eyes but was told NO, yet I saw 2 unused ones stored in the laundry room.)
#5 the vacuum (we had to drag it on the stairs ourselves)
#6 linens (we were told to go & find housekeeping ourselves).
We were always treated with rudeness. (Bill looked for housekeeping once & the old man tried to 86 him.) When we asked, more often than not, we were waved away & told to come back later. They own at least 2 other motels on the block & there's availability at Horseshoe, yet we weren't offered anything with easier access or better facilities. Because of the broken elevator, we didn't drag up very many supplies, which meant more trips to the store, more stairs & our food money didn't last. It has been extremely stressful, especially without my Emotional Support.
The accordian shower 'door' stayed 1/2 open and we had little room to shower. Bill, being minus the use of an arm and leg, with poor balance and me with my back and vertigo, were often dangerously close to slipping.
We needed the vacuum badly, but last time had to carry it upstairs ourselves, so we didn't ask. We didn't change our sheets or towels as much as needed.
December 24, I finally asked her for a room at a location with an elevator. She said next day. That was Christmas Eve and we were gone. We packed up everything. December 26 I asked, was told next day again. (Grandpa wouldn't tell me where she was.) The next day, she said if we stayed another month, yes. We weren't going to stay, obviously. We semi-unpacked in the filthy room in order to live.
Both of us are clean, polite people. To treat us like we're not, lie to us about the Time Zone availability, disrespect us and then not offer help is unacceptable. We haven't asked for a refund because, if we've been mistreated when asking for just batteries & a lamp, we're afraid of the repurcussions we would suffer until we leave.
