I have been going to Silver Sage Vet Hospital for years and have been very pleased with them. Actually most of my family and many of my friends go there as well. I have always gotten excellent care for my animals for the staff. When I had to put down our old Corgy the staff was very good. They even cried with us. I would like to suggest them to anyone who is looking for a vet in the Reno area.

Silver Sage Veterinary Hospital botched putting our dog to sleep (if you could actually call what he went through “sleep”). It was literally one of the worst experiences of my life. Our family dog started having seizures after the first injection, and he was clearly in a great deal of pain. I had to carry my seven year old daughter out of the room because she was completely traumatized from seeing her best friend in agony until he finally passed away (after about five minutes of grueling pain). It was truly horrible, and to add insult to injury, after the ordeal the vet tried to sell me a "commemorative paw print" of my deceased dog. I feel nauseous just typing this review and having to relive the experience.

Silver Sage took great care of my cats. One cat was very old, had a tumor and had to be put to sleep. It was UNBELIEVABLE how comforting and understanding the staff was with the service they provided and the way they helped me deal with the issues. Another cat had bladder stones and the staff went out of there way to deal with a very difficult situation when it was discovered that a botched surgery had been performed on the cat years before I adopted her. The veterinarian even called me following surgery, after the cat had come home, to see how she was doing. This office has the MOST CARING STAFF I have ever seen.
