Provided by YP.comWe arrived for our first appointment 10 minutes early. There was another patient and her husband also waiting. No one from the Sleep Center ever came. I called the number provided numerous times and received a recorded message asking for a my mailbox number. After 45 minutes, we both left. I contacted the Pulmonology office the next working day. The paperwork provided indicated we would be charged $200 if we failed to show up for the appointment. I asked if we would be given $200 because they failed to show up and I was told no.
More importantly is what happened to my husband when he finally went for his sleep study. He has pulmonary fibrosis and requires 4 liters of oxygen 24 hours a day to breathe. This was in his records provided to the Sleep center. I also contacted the Pulmomolgy office twice to insure oxygen would be provided for him. I requested a wheel chair to meet us at the car and informed the technician that he would require oxygen immediately when they removed him from his portable machine. I was assured that there was oxygen for him. When I picked him up the following morning, they had left him on a bench. He was disoriented and very weak. I had a great deal of trouble getting him to the car. For the next three days he was very weak, confused, and disoriented. I then found out that the Sleep Center has taken him completely off his oxygen for 11 minutes and had only provided 2 liters of oxygen for the next three hours when 4 liters is required at all times. This is WRONG and unconscionable. No one who requires oxygen to breathe should EVER be treated this way. We are providing this information in the hope of forewarning other patients and saving them from this.
