Fast Maximum Services is at best unnecessary and at worst a scam. First they purport to "clean trojans from your PC, which they claim your antivirus cannot detect (in my case the Norton Internet Security Suite). Well, this is a dubious claim because respected reviews of the efficacy of Norton say the opposite, that is, that Norton can detect both viruses and trojans. In fact, Norton is one of the highest rated virus and trojan protection software solutions on the market. So Just how do they go about perpetrating their questionable “services”? Why, they ask permission to take over your computer to “run some diagnostics”. After you’ve given them permission and they’ve taken over your computer remotely, they run the Microsoft Malicious Software Removal tool which anyone can download from the Microsoft website and run for free. How about that! They are going to charge you to run software you can download and run for free on your own!!! And if you have Malwarebytes on your computer, they'll remove it. These behaviors are suspicious, to say the least. I recommend that the company change parts of their business model. What they have now, is an invasion of privacy.

Then they squeeze out your bank routing and account numbers (they won't accept a credit card). Shame on me here. I am so angry with myself, that I was so gullible to provide both. These guys are little more than snake oil salesmen, distorting the truth to sale a service you can otherwise obtain for free. The Microsoft Malicious Software removal tool from Microsoft is free! Oh, and it gets better. They break down their “services” into two sections, an initial scan for $99 and then an extra fee of $169 to extend their services over 3 years. I asked if I could make a decision later on the extra fee. The salesman said yes. Well, nope…didn’t happen! They withdrew the additional amount without my permission. The online salesmen, one named “Kevin Brown”, the other a “Steve Madey” both had foreign accents, possibly from India, especially Kevin’s. There is no harm in being from India. Many outstanding software and hardware support technicians operate out of India. That said, this should have been a clue to “proceed with caution”. If one has a strong India accent, there is a better than average chance that person is located in an India call center, not the US as claimed by the company - at least they claim to be located in a California location.

And finally, beware of any company that won't accept a valid credit/debit card. A company that only takes direct deposits from a customer's bank account for services rendered, and refuses to use valid credit cards, deserves scrutiny. I would conjecture that they are fearful that customers might reverse the charges, if using a credit card. Regardless, and as previously stated, I feel their current methodology constitutes an invasion of privacy.
