Watch out for these guys. They are thieves. Very bad living conditions that might not even be legal. Maintenance was non existent. You are on your own. Meth dealers lived in the apartment above us, and armed Rexburg Police raided the building. The property Manager Jen did everything she could to rob us of our Deposit even after paying rent on time every time for six months. They do a $500.00 deposit then take $100.00 right off the bat and say its for carpet cleaning but never clean the carpets. Our feet were black in our new apartment after 20 minutes. When our lease ended, my wife slaved for two days cleaning the apartment white glove spotless. I checked everything on the list myself before we left. When we asked for our deposit back, the Manager Jenn made up excuses and said she had pictures that the apartment was dirty but never produced them. In my opinion, don t even bother cleaning if you leave. They still wont give you your deposit back. We have met three other BYUI couples that were also scammed by these people. The positive reviews on the web about this company are fake they hire people to write them. Watch out for this company. Dishonest thieves.

I got married in August last year and went to Rentmaster to see if I could find our first apartment. I was looking for a 6 month lease and the Jen helped me find a place that we loved. She sat down with us and went over all the documents with us. Throughout our stay we had to call the maintenance department only once but they responded to us within 24 hours. When it was time to put in our 30 day notice to move, I was told if I leave our apartment SPOTLESS I would get my deposit back. They gave me a move-out checklist of everything I needed to do to get my deposit back. GUESS WHAT!! I got it all back except the carpet cleaning which I knew upfront would be coming out. No problems at all!! Rentmaster recently is under new management and the girls in that office are so much fun!! I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to rent. If I ever move back to Rexburg, I will absolutely go there first. Thanks again!!

If you are thinking of renting...

If you are thinking of renting from Rentmaster beware. My husband and I spent at least 48 hours cleaning an apartment that was probably built in the 1940s, the last tenants had definitely not cleaned it before we moved in so it was super bad already. When we checked out the inspector told us it was rent ready, which according to their contract pretty much means you will get all of your deposit back besides, of course, the $50 they told us they would keep. Imagine my surprise when I see that they kept and extra $30, a "cleaning fee", even though that apartment probably never looked cleaner. To top it off, we arranged to have the carpets cleaned, through the company that the apartment owner requires, only to find out two days before we were going to move out that Rentmaster was trying to charge us to clean the tile as well, which was NOT in our contract. If the carpet people had not been honest and called before we left we probably would have paid close to an extra $100 more than we ever should have. Furthermore I have talked to at least two different couples who have rented from Rentmaster and have had to fight to not be charged extra for erroneous charges that Rentmaster has slapped on, after they were inspected and approved to get their whole deposit back. Moral of the story unless you are at your wits end don't rent from Rentmaster, unless of course you want to lose some serious money.

HORRIBLE!!!

These guys are incompetent and completely dishonest. Do not do business with these people. I hired them to manage a rental property I own. Big mistake. It would have been better off unattended than with these crooks watching it. They tried to squeeze every dollar out of me that they could. They were always coming up with repairs and maintenance that didn't need to be done so they could charge me more. They tried to charge me in the fall when they blew out my sprinkler lines, but I don't even have a sprinkler system! Another time they tried to charge me for changing the filter in the furnace, except I don't have a furnace in that house, it's electric heat only! It went like that on and on with them trying to rob me and me having to constantly be on my toes to double check everything they did until their dishonesty became so blatant and over the top that I had no choice but to replace them. Save yourself the headache, do not go with these thief's.
